ST. JOSEPH PARISH HOSTS JUBILEE OF HOPE IN MALUMFASHI, KATSINA STATE

St. Joseph Parish, located in Layin Minista, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, came alive on Thursday, October 16, 2025, as parishioners and faithful from surrounding communities gathered to celebrate the Jubilee of Hope—a spiritually enriching event themed “Hope That Transforms: A Call to Action.”
The program, which ran from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., was a profound expression of Catholic devotion and communal reflection. Spearheaded by the parish priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Shidi, the celebration featured a series of liturgical and spiritual activities designed to rekindle hope and inspire action among the faithful.
The day commenced with the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, inviting silent adoration and reverence. This was followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary, uniting voices in prayerful meditation on the mysteries of Christ. Sacramental Confessions were made available throughout the morning, offering attendees the opportunity for spiritual renewal and reconciliation.
A Spiritual Exhortation centered on the theme “Hope That Transforms: A Call to Action” was delivered, challenging participants to embody hope through concrete acts of faith, charity, and community engagement. The message emphasized that hope is not passive but a dynamic force that calls believers to respond to the needs of their world.
The congregation then participated in the Way of the Cross, retracing the steps of Christ’s passion in a solemn procession that underscored the redemptive power of suffering and sacrifice. This was followed by Benediction, a moment of blessing and reverence as the Blessed Sacrament was reposed.
The celebration culminated in the Holy Mass, presided over by Fr. Shidi, who in his homily reiterated the transformative nature of hope rooted in Christ. The liturgy was marked by vibrant hymns, communal prayer, and deep spiritual engagement. The event concluded with the Jubilee Prayer and Anthem, echoing the day’s theme and leaving participants uplifted and renewed.
