The Malumfashi Deanery celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Holy Childhood Association (HCA) in a vibrant and faith-filled gathering held immediately after the Sunday Mass.
The event brought together children and coordinators from various parishes across the deanery, including St. Vincent Ferrer Malumfashi, St. Joseph Layin Minister, St. Patrick’s Gamzago, St. Anthony of Padua Gidan Bala, and St. Patrick Gidan Maikambu.
The programme commenced with an opening prayer followed by the HCA anthem, setting a spiritual tone for the celebration. In her opening remarks, the Deanery Coordinator, Sr. Majella Dogonyaro, warmly welcomed the Diocesan Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), Rev. Fr. Musa Yusuf Abubakar, along with other dignitaries and participants.
The celebration featured a series of engaging and spiritually enriching activities. Members of HCA from St. Vincent Ferrer Malumfashi presented a welcoming song, after which a Bible Sword Competition was conducted. This was followed by a Catechism Quiz Competition, showcasing the children’s knowledge of the Catholic faith.
Other highlights included the recitation of memory verses from the Holy Scriptures by HCA members of St. Anthony of Padua Gidan Bala, a drama presentation by St. Patrick’s Gamzago, and a cultural dance performance by St. Patrick Gidan Maikambu.
At the end of the quiz competition, St. Vincent Ferrer Malumfashi emerged as the overall winner, followed by St. Anthony of Padua Gidan Bala in second place, and St. Patrick’s Gamzago in third place.
In her closing remarks, the Deanery Coordinator expressed profound gratitude to God for the success of the programme. She also appreciated the presence and support of the PMS Director, parish priests, the HCA Diocesan Coordinator, animators, members of the Young Missionary Movement (YOMM), and the Deanery Communication Team.
The celebration recorded a participation of over 150 children from across the deanery, reflecting the growing commitment to missionary childhood formation.
