The Lenten Retreat at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Funtua, continued on its second day, 19th March 2026, with a spiritually enriching session led by Rev. Fr. Noel Kayit. The gathering brought together numerous faithful who eagerly participated in prayers, reflections, and teachings aimed at deepening their Lenten experience.
The theme for the day, *“The Unchangeable God in His Love and Mercy,”* centered on the constant and unwavering nature of God despite human weaknesses and failings. In his reflection, Rev. Fr. Noel Kayit emphasized that God’s love and mercy remain ever-present and unchanging, regardless of life’s circumstances. He reminded the faithful that God never abandons His people, even when they falter.
A thought-provoking question posed during the session—*“Why do we betray and change, when our Creator remains constant and unchanging?”*—invited participants into deep personal reflection. The priest encouraged the faithful to examine their lives, renew their commitment to God, and strive for faithfulness in their relationship with Him.
The retreat featured moments of intense prayer, soulful worship, and quiet meditation, creating an atmosphere of deep spiritual encounter. Many participants were visibly moved as they reflected on God’s enduring mercy and their personal journey of faith.
Rev. Fr. Noel Kayit further urged the faithful to take advantage of the Lenten season as a time for repentance, renewal, and transformation. He highlighted the importance of returning to God wholeheartedly, trusting in His infinite love and readiness to forgive.
The day’s session concluded on a prayerful note, with participants expressing gratitude for the opportunity to grow spiritually. The retreat continues to serve as a moment of grace for the parish community, strengthening their faith and commitment.
May the Lord continue to do great things in the lives of His people as the retreat progresses, Amen.
