The retreat started with an opening mass celebrated by Rev Fr Solomon Akor and co celebrated by Rev Fr Victor Somadina Chibuzor (CYON chaplain) at 10.30am.
Youths from the cathedral, St Joseph shagari, St Gabriel daura, St Jacob Army Barracks and Hassan Usman Polytechnic graced the retreat.
In the homily, Citing the Gospel reading of the day, Fr Solomon advised the youths to always see something good in someone's life and not be quick to judge or speak negative of the person.
The mass ended and Exposition of the blessed sacrament took place immediately after the mass.
Guest ministers (sister chioma, minister sam, minister Emma, minister Mercy Amos) led powerful praises and prayers to the youths not forgetting the Cyon band who gave a beautiful ministration before the guest minister (Rev Fr Solomon Akor).
Before his ministration, he (Fr. Akor) led the youths into a deep examination of conscience to appreciate God, purge out their guilts and open their minds to accept the blessings of God.
He centered his preaching on the theme of the retreat FELLOWSHIP OF THE JUST.
He said that to be one with God, we need to
Appreciate God, observe our ways with God and fellowship with one another. We have lost that zeal to fellowship with one another because backbiting and other evils have taken over our minds forgetting that what a person does outside is totally different from what he does inside with God in the silence of his heart.
The ministration ended with a prayer session, inauguration of the Denary executives and final blessings with the blessed sacrament. There was refreshments for every one that attended the program and everyone went back to their respective places in peace.
For God and for youth........ Through Christ
