HCA 25th Anniversary: Day Two Begins with Rosary Procession, Encouragement and Reconciliation at Pastoral Centre, Malumfashi
Malumfashi, Katsina State — The second day of the HCA 25th Anniversary celebration in Nigeria, hosted by the Catholic Diocese of Katsina, commenced with a solemn Rosary procession at the Pastoral Centre, Malumfashi, as participants gathered in prayer and spiritual reflection.
The Rosary procession began at about 7:20 a.m., with the faithful moving together in prayer, entrusting the anniversary celebration, the Church, families and the work of the HCA to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The procession was led by Stephen Aluko, who guided the participants through the various mysteries of the Rosary. The prayerful atmosphere provided an opportunity for participants to begin the day’s activities by placing God at the centre of the anniversary celebration.
At the conclusion of the procession, words of encouragement were offered by the PMS Diocesan Director, Rev. Fr. Musa Yusuf Abubakar, and the Diocesan Coordinator, Sandra Ebere Chukwu.
They encouraged participants to remain committed to the Christian faith and to see the anniversary not merely as a celebration of 25 years, but also as an opportunity for spiritual renewal, thanksgiving and a deeper commitment to the mission of the Church.
The spiritual activities continued with the Sacrament of Reconciliation, providing participants with an opportunity for personal reflection, repentance and renewal.
Confessions were heard by Rev. Fr. Chibuzor Victor Somadina, Communications Director and Bishop’s Secretary; Rev. Fr. Chidi Samaila, Director of the Justice, Development and Peace Initiative (JDPI); and Rev. Fr. Musa Yusuf Abubakar, PMS Diocesan Director.
The celebration thus began its second day with a strong emphasis on prayer, reconciliation and spiritual preparation, reflecting the deeper Christian purpose behind the HCA’s 25th anniversary milestone.
Following the morning’s spiritual activities, participants proceeded to breakfast at about 8:30 a.m., marking the transition into the day’s subsequent programmes.
The Day Two activities continue as participants gather to celebrate the journey, achievements and enduring mission of the HCA within the Catholic community in Nigeria.
