CWO Maiden Diocesan Convention Concludes with Solemn Mass in Katsina
The Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina marked a historic milestone with their Maiden Diocesan Convention held at St. Martin de Porres Cathedral, drawing clergy and women from across the Diocese for prayer, fellowship, and dialogue aimed at strengthening unity and deepening faith. A notable highlight of the convention was a courtesy visit by CWO officials to the Bishop, where they reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the Church’s mission in evangelization, family life, and community service. The Bishop warmly received them, commending their dedication and encouraging steadfastness in their apostolic responsibilities. The convention concluded with a solemn Mass presided over by the Bishop as chief host. In one homily, he reflected on Luke 20:27–40, emphasizing that God is “not God of the dead, but of the living,” reminding the faithful that Christian hope is rooted in the promise of eternal life. In another reflection drawn from Luke 23:35–43, he highlighted Christ’s compassion on the Cross, stressing that Jesus’ kingship is revealed through sacrificial love, mercy, and forgiveness. Following the Eucharistic celebration, certificates were presented to graduates of the School of Faith in recognition of their dedication to spiritual growth and commitment to the Church’s mission. The Bishop congratulated the graduates and urged them to embody Christ-like virtues of mercy, compassion, and selfless service. The ceremony ended with prayers of thanksgiving and renewed commitment to faith, as participants described the convention as a milestone fostering spiritual renewal, diocesan unity, and a stronger Catholic identity.
