CYON DYD 2026: KATSINA YOUTHS CONCLUDE FIRST DIOCESAN YOUTH DAY WITH ALL SAINTS’ SOLEMNITY MASS

The Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON), Catholic Diocese of Katsina, has brought its maiden Diocesan Youth Day (DYD) 2026 to a close with a solemn Holy Mass on Sunday, 1 November 2026, at St. Martin de Porres Cathedral, Katsina, coinciding with the Solemnity of All Saints.

The closing Eucharistic celebration was presided over by the Diocesan Chancellor, Very Rev. Fr. Luka Magaji Yohanna, marking the spiritual conclusion of the gathering of young Catholics from across the Diocese.

The liturgy featured readings from Revelation 7:2–4, Psalm 24, 1 John 3:1–3 and Matthew 5:1–12a, highlighting themes of holiness, salvation, God's love and the blessings promised to those who faithfully follow Christ. Drawing from the Gospel of the Beatitudes, the celebration emphasised the Christian virtues of humility, mercy, purity of heart, peacemaking and perseverance in righteousness.

The readings also served as a reminder that holiness is a universal calling, encouraging young Catholics to follow the example of the saints through their daily lives and commitment to Christ.

The closing Mass further underscored the importance of the Diocesan Youth Day as a platform for spiritual formation, Christian fellowship, unity and active youth participation in the mission of the Church.

As the maiden edition of DYD came to an end, the celebration of All Saints challenged the young faithful to remain steadfast in their faith and become exemplary witnesses of Christ through love, service, discipline and dedication to God.
