WORLD MISSION SUNDAY: NEW MEMBERS INAUGURATED INTO YOUNG MISSIONARIES OF MERCY

The celebration of the 2026 World Mission Sunday has inspired renewed missionary consciousness among young Catholics in the Catholic Diocese of Katsina, with several young persons formally inaugurated into the Young Missionaries of Mercy (YOMM).

As part of the celebration, 33 new members from St. Mary's Parish, Gidan Korau, were inaugurated, alongside five members from St. Theresa's Parish, Funtua, and several others from St. Martin de Porres Cathedral, Katsina.

The development marks another step towards encouraging young Catholics to embrace their identity and responsibilities as missionaries, spreading the Gospel through faith, service and witness to Christ in their communities.

The growing number of YOMM members reflects the increasing commitment of young people to the Church's missionary mandate and the call to make Christ known to all.
