The priests of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan gathered in prayer during their Annual Retreat, coming together as one family of faith to pray the Holy Rosary and seek spiritual renewal for their priestly ministry.
The prayerful gathering provided a profound moment of communion, reflection and devotion as the priests, united in faith and dressed in white, entrusted their priesthood, the Diocese of Kafanchan, Southern Kaduna, Nigeria and the universal Church to the maternal care and powerful intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
A Priesthood Entrusted to Mary
Through the recitation of the Holy Rosary, the priests sought the maternal intercession of Mary as they reflected on their vocation and the responsibilities entrusted to them as ministers of the Gospel.
The Rosary became an opportunity to place before God the needs of the Church, the people they serve and the challenges facing society, while seeking the grace to remain faithful to their priestly calling.
Bishop Gerald Musa Joins the Priests in Prayer
The retreat was graced by the presence of Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Mamman Musa, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Katsina, who joined the priests of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan in the sacred moment of prayer and fellowship.
His presence further strengthened the spirit of fraternity and communion among the priests as they continued their retreat and spiritual renewal.
Renewed Strength for Priestly Mission
In the silence and serenity of prayer, the priests continued to draw renewed strength for their mission, deepening their commitment to Christ and seeking God’s grace to serve His people with faith, humility, courage and love.
The Annual Retreat remains an important moment for spiritual renewal, allowing the priests to step away from their regular pastoral responsibilities, reflect more deeply on their vocation and place their ministry anew in the hands of God.
May the Lord bless and keep our priests, strengthen them in their ministry and grant them the grace to remain faithful servants of His people. Amen.
