The second day of the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Holy Childhood Association (HCA) in Nigeria, hosted by the Catholic Diocese of Katsina, commenced with a solemn Rosary procession at the Pastoral Centre, Malumfashi, as participants gathered in prayer, reflection and spiritual preparation.
Rosary Procession Opens Day Two
The Rosary procession began at about 7:20 a.m., with the faithful moving together in prayer and entrusting the anniversary celebration, the Church, families and the mission of the HCA to the maternal intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The procession was led by Maryann Stephen Aluko, who guided participants through the mysteries of the Holy Rosary. The prayerful atmosphere provided an opportunity for the participants to begin the day by placing God at the centre of the anniversary celebration.
Participants Encouraged Towards Spiritual Renewal
At the conclusion of the Rosary procession, words of encouragement were offered by the PMS Diocesan Director, Rev. Fr. Musa Yusuf Abubakar, and the Diocesan Coordinator, Sandra Ebere Chukwu.
They encouraged participants to remain steadfast in the Christian faith and to view the 25th Anniversary not merely as a commemoration of the HCA’s journey over the past 25 years, but also as an opportunity for spiritual renewal, thanksgiving and a deeper commitment to the mission of the Church.

Sacrament of Reconciliation
The spiritual activities continued with the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, providing participants with an opportunity for personal examination, repentance and spiritual renewal.
Confessions were heard by Rev. Fr. Chibuzor Victor Somadina, Communications Director and Bishop’s Secretary; Rev. Fr. Chidi Samaila, Director of the Justice, Development and Peace Initiative (JDPI); and Rev. Fr. Musa Yusuf Abubakar, PMS Diocesan Director.
The opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation added a significant spiritual dimension to the anniversary celebration, encouraging participants to prepare themselves interiorly for the activities of the day and to renew their commitment to Christian living.

Breakfast and Continuation of Anniversary Programmes
Following the morning’s spiritual activities, participants proceeded to breakfast at about 8:30 a.m., marking the transition into the subsequent programmes scheduled for Day Two.
The second day of the HCA 25th Anniversary celebration continues with participants reflecting on the association’s journey, achievements and enduring mission within the Catholic community in Nigeria, while strengthening their commitment to faith, service and the formation of children in the Christian life.
