PAD THE GIRL PROJECT BY THE CYON AMBASSADORS

PAD THE GIRL PROJECT BY THE CYON AMBASSADORS
The Pad the Girl Project organized by the CYON Ambassadors of Saint Martin's De Porres Cathedra, Katsina State at Saint Martin's De-Porres College, Katsina State, commenced at 10:00am with the female students of the college, teachers, and CYON members in attendance. The Cathedral Administrator/Principal, Very Rev. Fr Matthias Abbas Bakoshi, appreciated CYON for the beautiful initiative and prayed for God's blessings upon the youths for their commitment and service. Nurses from the Federal Teaching Hospital Katsina, Miss Modlyne Aka and Mrs Emmanuella Adole, were present to give health talks on menstruation and menstrual hygiene practices for growing girls. They enlightened the students on what menstruation is, the importance of proper menstrual hygiene, and how young girls can take care of themselves during their menstrual periods. The session was interactive as students asked thoughtful and important questions, which were beautifully addressed by Miss Modlyne Aka. The youths present were also introduced to the students. The CYON President, Mr Chiekezie Kenneth Chinedu, delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of CYON. He expressed gratitude to the nurses for taking time out of their schedules to attend the program and appreciated the students for their active participation. He also assured them that as YCS members, CYON remains committed to supporting them in every way possible. As part of the project, sanitary pads were distributed to the students who received them with joy and appreciation. Pictures were taken as the students happily returned to their classrooms discussing the lessons learnt during the program. The program came to an end at 12:10pm with a closing prayer by the CYON president. Special appreciation goes to the CYON Ambassadors, for this beautiful initiative. May God continue to bless their efforts.
