Hisbah of Karfi Ward Pays Courtesy Visit to St. Joseph’s Parish Priest
Karfi Ward, Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State — October 25, 2025 In a remarkable gesture of interfaith harmony and community engagement, the Hisbah Committee of Karfi Ward in Malumfashi Local Government Area paid a courtesy visit to the Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, Layin Minista, on Friday. The visit, led by senior members of the Hisbah, was aimed at fostering mutual understanding, peaceful coexistence, and collaboration between religious institutions within the ward. St. Joseph’s Parish, located in Layin Minista, is an integral part of the Karfi community and has long been a center for Christian worship and outreach. Receiving the delegation was the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Stephen Shidi, who warmly welcomed the Hisbah representatives and expressed gratitude for their thoughtful initiative. Fr. Shidi emphasized the importance of dialogue and unity among faith communities, noting that such visits help strengthen the social fabric of the ward. “This is a beautiful example of how we can build bridges across faiths,” Fr. Shidi remarked. “We all share the same community, and working together in peace is the best way forward.” The Hisbah team commended the parish for its contributions to community development and reiterated their commitment to promoting moral values, peace, and cooperation across all religious divides. The meeting concluded with prayers and a renewed pledge to uphold harmony and respect among all residents of Karfi Ward.
