In a significant gesture of goodwill and community engagement, Corps Commander Maxwell K. Lede of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) paid a courtesy visit to the Bishop of the Katsina Diocese, marking his first official interaction with a religious institution since assuming office in Katsina.
The meeting, held at the Bishop’s office, was attended by members of the commander’s entourage and representatives of the diocese. In his address, Commander Lede expressed deep appreciation to the Bishop for the warm reception, noting that the visit was not only to familiarize himself with the diocese but also to seek spiritual blessings as he embarks on his assignment in the state.
Commander Lede acknowledged the longstanding cordial relationship between the FRSC and the Katsina Diocese, stating his commitment to strengthening that bond. He pledged to honor invitations to church functions and appealed to the Bishop to help disseminate the FRSC’s message across the diocese, encouraging faithful members to adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations.
He further emphasized the importance of public education on road safety, offering the FRSC’s support in organizing seminars, lectures, and workshops aimed at enlightening the community. The commander also introduced the newly developed FRSC mobile application, designed to provide users with accessible information on road safety procedures and services.
In response, the Bishop warmly welcomed the commander and commended him for being the first armed personnel to visit the diocesan office. The Bishop raised concerns regarding road conditions and the issue of vehicle overloading, particularly with motorcycles and cars, urging the FRSC to address these challenges. He reaffirmed the diocese’s continued support for the agency’s mission and pledged to collaborate in promoting road safety awareness among the faithful.
The visit concluded with mutual expressions of goodwill and a shared commitment to fostering safer roads and stronger community ties through faith-based engagement.
