The Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Katsina Diocese, has once again demonstrated the spirit of Christian compassion and social responsibility through its Ambassadors Project, an initiative designed to promote faith in action across the diocese. As part of this ongoing project, the diocesan youths paid a visit to the Motherless Babies’ Home in Katsina State, spreading love and sharing moments of joy with the children.
The visit, which marks the first phase of the Ambassadors Project, was led by the Diocesan Mr. and Mrs. CYON, Miss Paulina Isaac and Mr. Michael Kantiok. The youths gathered at the orphanage to interact with the children, present essential items, and offer words of encouragement and hope. Their presence brought warmth and happiness to the children, symbolizing the organization’s commitment to living out the gospel values of love and service.
The Deanery Chaplain of Katsina Diocese, Rev. Fr. Victor Somadina Chibuzor, also joined the youth delegation and offered prayers of blessing over the gifts and the beneficiaries. In his remarks, he commended the CYON members for their active witness of faith and for embodying the teachings of Christ through charity and care for the less privileged. He encouraged them to remain consistent in their missionary efforts and to continue inspiring others through their acts of kindness.
During the visit, several useful items were presented to the management of the orphanage, who expressed sincere appreciation for the thoughtful gesture. The management team also took the CYON representatives on a tour around the facility, introducing them to the various sections of the home and highlighting the daily care provided for the children.
The CYON Ambassadors Project is a three-part initiative that seeks to extend love and compassion to different segments of society. It comprises the Visitation to the Orphanage in Katsina Deanery, Support to the Less Privileged in Malumfashi Deanery, and Hospital Visitation in Funtua Deanery. Each phase is designed to encourage Catholic youths to engage in impactful outreach and strengthen their sense of communal responsibility.
Speaking at the event, the Diocesan Mr. and Mrs. CYON expressed their joy at the successful launch of the first phase of the project and reaffirmed the youth body’s commitment to promoting acts of service that reflect the true essence of Christian discipleship. They noted that the Ambassadors Project aims to remind young people that leadership begins with service and that every act of love, no matter how small, contributes to building a better and more compassionate society.
The visit concluded with prayers, songs of thanksgiving, and renewed dedication among the youths to remain true ambassadors of faith, hope, and charity within their communities and beyond.
