Catechetical Training Centre Graduation

The Diocese of Katsina joyfully announces the upcoming **Graduation Ceremony of the Catechetical Training Centre**, which will take place on **Wednesday, 3rd December 2025**, during the **First Week of Advent**. This special event marks the successful completion of formation for a new set of catechists who have dedicated themselves to the study and teaching of the Catholic faith. It is a moment of thanksgiving for the Diocese, as we celebrate the gift of men and women who will serve as front-line evangelizers in our parishes and communities. Catechists occupy a unique and irreplaceable role in the life of the Church. They are not only teachers of the faith but also witnesses of Christ through their words and actions. The training programme equips them with a deep understanding of Scripture, the Catechism, liturgy, and pastoral methods, enabling them to guide children, youth, and adults in their journey of faith. The graduation is therefore not merely a ceremony but a commissioning of missionaries into the vineyard of the Lord. The celebration will begin with a solemn Eucharistic liturgy, during which the graduates will be formally presented to the Church and entrusted with their mission. The Bishop, together with priests, religious, families, and friends, will join in praying for them as they step forward to serve. Testimonies of the graduates’ journey through formation will also be shared, highlighting their sacrifices, growth, and dedication to the apostolate. Beyond the liturgical celebrations, the event will serve as a reminder to all the faithful of the importance of catechesis in the life of the Church. Every parish and every Christian family benefits from the dedication of catechists, who tirelessly explain the truths of the faith, prepare candidates for the sacraments, and nurture a deeper love for Christ. Their graduation is a call for us all to support and collaborate with them in building up the Body of Christ. The Diocese warmly invites parishioners, families of the graduates, and all who love the mission of catechesis to attend this joyful celebration. May this graduation inspire more men and women to respond generously to the call of serving as catechists, and may the Lord strengthen those being commissioned to live out their mission with courage, humility, and fidelity.
